Good Day All,

 

Things here are busy but the end is near. 3 more weeks of classes and then finals and graduation. It has been tough with scheduling all the AP and IGCSE tests into the school days and students missing classes for all of it but we're still plugging along.

 

We had our big year end music concert last night. I would say it went very well. Betsy and I joined the Orchestral Ensemble (band) this semester for fun and it was good. It was tough for me because I haven't picked up a trumpet since high school and even then I was never very good at it. It all came back by this week though and I think we did well. The brass section joined the Chamber Choir for an arrangement of He Never Failed Me Yet and we had the whole place on its feet. That was fun.

 

There is a volleyball tournament today here at school. We invited 5 boys and 5 girls teams. We confirmed yesterday but still managed to get only 1 boys team and 2 girls teams to come. The girls were business as usual winning their first and the boys were 1-1 when I left to get out of the sun. They have improved a lot this year.

 

Our big news is that the JOB SEARCH is over. The LORD has provided an opportunity for us to teach at Kwangju Foreign School in Gwangju S Korea and we have accepted. We would really have loved to be back in MN this year but there just are too many teachers and not enough jobs. KFS is a small school but pays very well. It is not a Christian school but looks to recruit Christian teachers mostly from the US. Betsy will be teaching grade 6 (not crazy about that) and I will be doing the 9-12 social studies classes. They also are interested in having her lead a drama team and I have been asked to be head basketball coach. I have been researching Gwangju and it seems like a very nice place to live. They even have a Korean big-league baseball team. You can see the school at kwangjuforeignschool.org.

 

We plan to fly back to MN on the 14^th and are really looking forward to being home. Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. Many of you are asking where we are on support raising and we should have the answer to that soon. I know we are still short of our final budget by a little. Once we get everything caught up and finalize our expenses we should have that for you all.
